There’s Paris, there’s Milan and of course who can forget the tents at Bryant Park in New York City? But what about L.A. Fashion Week? Many disregard L.A .Fashion Week altogether and some wonder if it’s slowly fading. L.A. Fashion Week may not have the heavy hitters like Anna Wintour but it does bring out a gaggle of glitz and glamour from the celebs who know a thing or two about cleaning up nicely. Even in a recession, Hollywood managed to pull out all the stops this year with an eco-fashion event and an evening of 20th Century Glamour at MOCA. The end of fashion week also marks the beginning of new celeb-inspired looks. Here’s a few iconic style-charged favorites from prim and proper to provocative.
Nicole Richie at Evening of 20th Century Glamour at MOCA
Soon to be mother of two Nicole Ritchie may be busy with daughter Harlow, rocker-daddy Joe Madden and her budding new jewelry line House of Harlow. Yet somehow Ritchie still finds time to rock her signature Bohemian style with this one-shouldered Zandra Rhodes Kaftan.
Nicky Hilton and one oversized accessory
Sure black can get boring but Nicky Hilton shows us how darling accessories can do the opposite. The oversized rosette/flower popping from one shoulder and the Jimmy Choo’s adorning those stems keep her far from ordinary.
Kim Kardashian shopping on Sunset Blvd
This week we caught the Keeping up with the Kardashian star strolling the high end shops of Sunset Plaza in West Hollywood. No one loves shopping more than Kim Kardashian. Here’s our favorite E! reality star pulling together several trends at once with a classic Chanel bag, skinny/ripped jeans, oversize glasses and a funky scarf.
Kristen Stewart in Herve Leger
We loved Twilight and we love Kristen Stewart, who shows off her fun side in this striped Herve Leger dress in this season’s popular color, orange! Bold stripes and colors with a super short hemline are great for the more adventurous types.
Jessica Alba at indie drama premiere of Sugar
Shedding the baby fat for Jessica Alba was a breeze and nothing shows off a great bod better than a geometric print cinched at the waist with a great belt. This Miu Miu top and vintage clutch above are classy and fun without being boring.
We have never seen Vanessa Hudgens dress like crap
Not everyone can pull off skinny jeans but tween star Vanessa Hudgens sure can. We’re happy that the off the shoulder look keeps reappearing as it does here in Vanessa’s Bohemian-inspired top by Diane von Furstenberg.
Angie Harmon ready for summer
Haven’t shed that winter weight? Is it hot and need to get glammed up? A sundress is a great way to look pulled together when your feeling anything but glam. Orange is a popular color this season so try to incorporate it with bold stripes like this Chanel number worn by Angie Harmon.
Audrina Patridge at premiere of I Love You Man
Hills star Audrina Patridge rocks one of celebgawkings favorite colors (navy blue) with this rocker-chic Whitley Kross ensemble that is part sweet with ruffles and strapless bodice but also short enough to make it edgy.
Julia Roberts promoting her new film Duplicity
Julia Roberts proves that being a mother doesn’t mean you have to go from fab to frumpy. Here she is in the furthest thing from mom jeans, looking extra tiny with a cinched belt and three quarter inch sleeves.
- Rose McGowan at LA Fashion Week
Orange you glad to see Rose McGowan out of black and into something bright? The designer that got Rose McGowan out of black threads? Loris Azzaro. We think Rose looked stunning in this simple orange dress.
Lauren Conrad unrolling her favorite trends for her Spring collection
Spring collection, which epitomize California-chic style at it’s best. Floral prints seem to be making a comeback. Flirty ruffles and short hemlines make a sweet dress demure. Long and flowy is also a signature of LC’s collection and as we see above, one of Lauren’s favorites. We hope her line comes back!
Demi Moore looking demure....
Yellow never looked so good. Mrs. Ashton Kutcher hit the 2009 Miami International Film Festival to screen her short film “Streak” and looked radiant and very South Beach-esque in this yellow dress and strappy heels.
